BIGBANG Announces Comeback This Spring After 4-Year Hiatus

On February 7th, YG Entertainment announced that BIGBANG is set to release new music this spring, which marks their first comeback in 4 years. 

YG Entertainment also announced that member T.O.P’s exclusive contract has ended and he will be leaving the agency after 16 years. T.O.P will continue pursuing his solo career as an artist and entrepreneur.

BIGBANG’s agency, YG Entertainment, added that the group has completed recording their new song, and they’re now preparing to film their new music video. 

The release date and title of the song has yet to be announced. 

T.O.P will still participate in BIGBANG’s activities

YG Entertainment stated, “As long as the conditions are right, T.O.P will always participate in BIGBANG’s activities whenever he is able.”

Debuting in 2006 as a five-member group, BIGBANG has been at the forefront of K-pop with numerous hit songs such as Bang Bang Bang, Fantastic Baby, Fxxk It and Last Farewell.

Seungri left the group in 2019 and retired from the entertainment industry after being embroiled in a prostitution scandal. The remaining members, G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung have all completed their mandatory military service.

The upcoming song will be the group’s first release since their last digital single, Flower Road, which was released in March 2018. 

As the lyrics in Flower Road goes, “This is not the last time for us. Please, let us meet again when the flowers bloom.” True to their promise, BIGBANG will be meeting their fans soon with their comeback in spring.
