Cinema experiences have been consistently improving over the years, from having recliner seats to 3-course meals being served. Cinema Factory in Korea is a movie theatre that continues to revamp the experience as moviegoers can watch the latest films in private rooms equipped with beds and sofas.

Cinema Factory is a movie theatre with 2 types of seating: Skybox Seats and general ground seats. Skybox Seats are private rooms in a 3-storey-high building. These rooms can fit up to 4 people at any one time.

Each private room is furnished with a sound bar system, so the sound experience will not be affected despite the moviegoers being separated from the screen through a glass window. 

In each room, there are either cushioned seats or lounge chairs with footrests.

Visitors can also place their belongings on the foldable tables provided in each room. They can directly control the lighting, volume, and room temperature of their own rooms for maximum comfort.

Customers can order classic movie food snacks, such as popcorn, chicken, and soft drinks, from the cinema’s room service.

The caramel popcorn costs KRW5,900 (~USD4.63) for a bucket, while grilled squid with butter costs KRW13,000 (~USD10.21) for a portion. You can even order a bucket of brown rice baked boneless chicken with garlic for KRW18,500 (~USD14.53).

Their beverages are affordable, ranging from KRW2,000 (~USD1.57) for a cup of Americano to KRW6,000 (~USD4.71) for a pint of Carlsberg beer.

The cinema is inclusive for all groups of moviegoers, as its premises are kid-friendly and pet-friendly.

There are plushies provided on the ground floor seats for those who like to cuddle something when they are watching movies.

Movie tickets range from KRW23,000 (~USD18.06) to KRW56,000 (~USD43.97), depending on the rooms and facilities that you’re going for. 


Getting to Cinema Factory


The concept of Cinema Factory was first thought up in order to accommodate social distancing restrictions during the start of the pandemic. It has since become a getaway for families, couples, and those who want to enjoy the latest film in their own private space. 

How to get there: 

  • Take the Busan Metro Line 1 to Namsan Station. 
  • Exit through Exit 8, go to the Baptist Hospital (Namsan Station) bus stop and board bus no. 1002. 
  • Alight at Hyein Hospital stop. 
  • Walk for about 6 minutes and you will reach Cinema Factory.
