Su-san Park cafe


From Sesame Street-themed cafes to stairway to heaven cafes, Korea is on their A-game when it comes to unique cafe concepts.

Su-san Park Cafe is just the latest addition to the list – this ocean-themed cafe and bakery has gone out their way to make you feel like you’re at the beach.

Upon entering Su-san Park Cafe, you’ll notice a huge screen playing animated images of marine life, which will immediately put you in a tranquil and relaxed mood.

On the ground floor, there are seats in an area that resembles a beach, and you can even take a seat in small wooden boats or reclining pool chairs.

The cafe is dedicated to its ocean theme – look up and you’ll see decorative fish ornaments hanging from the ceiling.

The cafe has 2 main floors for seating, and its spacious interior is decorated in warm, off-white tones interspersed with tropical plants and shades of blue.

On the second floor, there’s is a sushi restaurant where you can get your raw fish fix after spending a day at the marine-themed cafe.

The price of the sushi is based on the different coloured plates, and it ranges from KRW2,000 (~USD1.61) to KRW10,000 (~USD8.05)

At the cafe, there is also a bakery where you can get your hands on their signature bakes, but do note that they get sold out pretty quickly.

On certain days, the cafe also offers limited edition drinks such as the dolphin fondant cold brew latte (KRW8,500, ~USD6.85)

Refresh your tastebuds with the tropical-flavoured blue ocean ade (KRW8,000, ~USD6.44), a drink that has two different coloured layers for maximum vacation cocktail vibes. Don’t worry, it’s alcohol-free.

On your way up to the rooftop of the cafe, you’ll be guided by a flight of insta-worthy pastel-coloured stairs.

At the rooftop, you’ll find the stairway to heaven photo zone, which gives you an unobstructed view of the blue sky. It’s a pretty popular photo zone, so you may have to wait around to get a good shot.

How to get here: 

  • From Gimpo Airport Station, take the Gold Line and alight after 7 stops, at Masan Station.
  • Head to Exit 1, and make your way to Masan Bus stop.
  • Take Bus 60-3, and alight after 21 stops, at Daemyeong Port Bus stop.
  • Su-san Park Cafe will then be a 10-minute walk away.
