Located in Taebaek, the city with the highest elevation in Korea, Motorang Goat Farm is a place where you get to interact with free-roaming animals in the midst of the mountains.

To explore the ranch freely, you’ll have to pay an admission fee of KRW5,000 (~USD3.95), but children under 36 months old get to enter for free. 

If you are simply interested in hanging out at the cafe, no admission fee is required.

Purchase a cup of goat feed for KRW5,000 (~USD3.95) and watch the lively goats swarm up to you – it’s probably the closest you’d get to becoming a Disney princess.

The vast pastures and tall hills will lull you into a relaxed state of mind, and even make you feel like you’re in the Alps, or a cast member in The Sound of Music.

At the farm, you can spice up your trip by having a picnic with the goats. Picnic sets are available for purchase at KRW49,000 (~USD​​38.71), and it comes with everything you’d need, including food and mats.

The ranch offers various kid-friendly activities such as baby goat feeding (KRW10,000, ~USD7.90) and an ice cream making experience (KRW5,000, ~USD3.95).

At a goat farm, your experience is never really complete if you don’t try some goat milk. It’s easier to digest than cow’s milk and has a distinct creamy taste.

That said, pure goat milk isn’t to everyone’s taste. To ease your way into new territory, cafe incorporates goat milk into items on the menu, including their signature Motorang Cream Latte (KRW7,000, ~USD5.53).

How to get here: 

  • From Taebaek Bus Terminal, take Bus no. 11 and alight after 8 stops at Brighton Apartments stop.
  • Walk past the Dongwon Transport building and make your way to the top of the ranch road.
  • After a 7-minute walk, you’ll be able to spot Motorang Goat Farm.
