The Giant Doll From Squid Game Is Real, And You Can Find It In Jincheon

Squid Game doll IRL

Squid Game fans have been terrified by the giant doll that appeared in the first game, “Red Light, Green Light”. Some have compared it to Annabelle from The Conjuring.

What is even more disturbing is the fact that the Squid Game doll exists in real life, and it’s missing a right hand.

Creepy doll from Squid Game comes to life

On 27th September, an anonymous post titled “A real update on the doll from Red Light, Green Light” was uploaded on a Korean online community called Theqoo.

The giant animatronic doll that appeared in the first game turned out to be real, and it can be found in a carriage museum located in Jincheon county, South Korea.

The anonymous post included pictures of the giant doll, but there was one stark difference – the doll at the museum is missing one hand. And here we thought the doll couldn’t get any creepier.

According to JTBC News, the production team of Squid Game borrowed the doll from 진천 마차박물관 (Jincheon Carriage Museum), also known as Macha Land, and returned it to the carriage museum after filming.

At Macha Land, one can learn more about Korean traditional carriages in the midst of nature. In addition, carriages and weapons are produced here for historical Korean dramas. These carriages and weapons are later displayed for the public.

But that still doesn’t answer our question: why do they have a giant doll in the middle of nowhere?

Squid Game Doll also spotted in the Philippines

Jincheon county is not the only place that’s home to a giant Squid Game doll – there’s another one watching over the pedestrians in the Philippines.

On 22nd September, a video of a doll that resembles its drama counterpart went viral online. This doll was installed by Netflix Philippines to promote the show while ensuring the safety of pedestrians. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

The replica is located in Manila, and it stands tall in front of the Robinsons Galleria Ortigas Mall. Like the doll in Squid Game, this replica can detect jaywalkers with its laser eyes. Whenever it spots someone jaywalking, its eyes will turn a menacing red.

The idea of installing a duplicate doll, as well as the playful twist on the game “Red Light, Green Light” captivated the attention of many people. In fact, some netizens have commented that the doll is “more effective than a traffic enforcer”.
