On 25th August, Yonhap News confirmed that Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-dae will be the protagonists for a rom-com drama titled Shooting Stars. This is the first time they are working on a project together, leaving many fans excited for the upcoming drama.

Shooting Stars is a drama that sheds light on the Korean entertainment industry. When we think of the Korean entertainment industry, celebrities usually come to mind first. However, this drama does not only depict the lives of top stars, but also reporters, managers, and agents who work behind the scenes.

Kim Young-dae will play the role of Gong Tae-sung, a top star. In the public eye, Tae-sung is a polite individual with a killer angelic smile. However, there’s an unexpected charm to Tae-sung – he is also full of competitive spirit.

Lee Sung-kyung will take on the role of Oh Han-byeol, the Head of Publicity of Tae-sung’s talent agency.
Shooting Stars is a rom-com drama about a love-hate relationship between Han-byeol and Tae-sung. But it also follows the supporting roles who shed blood, sweat, and tears behind the scenes in order to make their top stars shine like stars in the sky.
According to Yonhap News, filming for Shooting Stars will begin in September.
Shooting Stars is an original production of iQIYI, a global streaming platform. In Korea, Shooting Stars is scheduled to broadcast on tvN.
The drama will be launched in 2022.
The Korean entertainment industry is a dog-eat-dog world. It’s highly competitive and unrealistically ambitious at times. This makes the plot of Shooting Stars particularly interesting, and we’re excited to see the chemistry between Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-dae on screen.
Lee Sung-kyung was recognised for her acting in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, where she had to gain 5KG for her role as a weightlifting athlete. Similarly, Kim Young-dae has been gaining popularity through his recent project, The Penthouse: War In Life.
