Yoo Seung-ho’s 2017’s The Emperor: Owner of the Mask was a hit as the 4th most-watched drama of that year, and we’ll get the chance to see him in hanbok in another historical drama that’s set to air in the second half of this year. The new drama, When The Flowers Bloom, I Think Of The Moon, will be Hyeri’s first historical drama.
When The Flowers Bloom, I Think Of The Moon follows the lives of 4 youths growing up in the Joseon Dynasty during a period of time where alcohol is prohibited. The drama will also touch on friendship, romance, and alcohol amidst the uptight and restrictive way of life during that era.

In When The Flowers Bloom, I Think Of The Moon, Yoo Seung-ho will play a handsome inspector, Nam Young, who enforces the law prohibiting the sale of alcohol in the Joseon period. His character is someone who had left his hometown for Hanyang in hopes of rebuilding up his family’s reputation.

Hyeri will be playing the role of Kang Ro-seo, a daughter of a noble family whose finances went downhill when she turned 13. She took up various odd jobs and is now making alcohol to pay off her family’s debts.
When The Flowers Bloom, I Think Of The Moon is Hyeri’s first historical drama in her acting career. It’s also her second leading role this year. Her drama My Roommate Is a Gumiho, currently airing, sees her as Lee Dam, a college student who crossed paths with a nine-tailed fox in his human form.
The duo end up cohabitating with each other after she accidentally swallows the bead that allows the fox to become human to solve this unforeseen circumstance.
Script reading for When The Flowers Bloom, I Think Of The Moon has completed since the confirmation of the cast, and filming of the drama is expected to begin soon. The drama is set to be aired in the second half of 2021.
With Hyeri’s impressive performance in her previous works, we’re excited to see what she has in store for us in her debut historical drama. Also, we can’t wait to see Yoo Seung-ho in period garb after a long 4-year wait.
