Object: Stationery Store In Seoul That Sells Utensils & Accessories, & Where You’ll Spend Won Like Water

Object in Seoul

It’d be an understatement to describe Object merely as a stationery store. With more than 140K followers on Instagram and 8 outlets across South Korea, Object is now recognised – locally and internationally – as a trendy yet artistic brand.

Everything here is designed by local artists

Object’s biggest flex is that every item is made and designed by the locals. It houses the works of several well-known Korean brands and independent designers, which means there’s a wide range of products for you to choose from.

Postcards illustrated by Zero Per Zero, AKA one of the most popular Korean stationery brands.

Stationery enthusiasts who have dipped their toes into the world of bullet journalling may easily recognise several brands here, such as Zero Per Zero and Dinotaeng. Be ready to set aside at least an hour to browse through every item at Object.

While you keep yourself occupied with the adorable knick-knacks, don’t forget to take a good look at the interior of the stationery store. It’d be a pity to overlook the prints and illustrations that adorn the walls of this cosy shop.

From adorable ornaments to practical gifts

If you think stationery stores are only for spendthrifts who devote their dough to adorable yet unnecessary school or office supplies, Object may make you think twice.

It’s undeniable that there are many trinkets here, but you can also find practical lifestyle goods and gifts.

The quokka inspired airpod cases (KRW19,000, ~USD14.19 each) by Dinotaeng captivated our attention – it’s a cute addition to your airpod case collection, and it makes an ideal gift for your family and friends. Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

DIY lovers can check out Object’s humble collection of iron-on patches appliqué. These are perfect for spicing up an ordinary-looking bag or apparel.

You can even find utensils and books at this stationery store. Cups, mugs, and tumblers – you’d be spoilt for choice, and alas, your wallet may shed a tear or two here.

For avid readers, take note that there’s a relatively wide selection of books at Object, with offerings such as novels, guide books, and illustration books. Don’t worry if you don’t read Korean, the photography and illustration books are great alternatives for keepsakes.

Apart from utensils, books, and stationery, you can even purchase accessories here. To our surprise, the accessory collection was of high calibre, and we appreciated that the rings, necklaces, and bracelets came in different sizes. Take this as a sign to get a friendship ring with your travel buddy.

Make your way to Object

We encourage you to spend a day at Anguk, where you can pay a visit to Object after having a hearty meal at London Bagel Museum, a cafe that specialises in bagels, or Kkangtong Mandu, a Korean restaurant that serves handmade dumplings and noodles.

How to get there:

  • Head to Exit 2 of Anguk Station.
  • Walk straight for about 400m.
  • Cross the road, then turn into the corner on your left.
