Earlier this year, a closed section of the Busan Metro Donghae Nambu Line was redeveloped to become the Haeundae Blueline Park. In particular, 2 railway attractions in the park – the Haeundae Beach Train and Haeundae Sky Capsule – piqued the interest of many due to the picturesque coastal views that they promise.

Haeundae Blueline Park recently opened its doors to visitors on 6th October 2020. The park is 4.8km-long, starting from Mipo Station and ending at Songjeong Station. It connects various attractions such as Mipo Port, Cheongsapo Port, Dalmaji Tunnel, and Daritdol Skywalk.

To navigate through the park, you can either walk or choose to ride the Haeundae Beach Train, which stops at 6 stations – Mipo Station, Dalmaji Tunnel, Cheongsapo Station, Daritdol Observatory, Gudeokpo, and Songjeong.
The train has seats facing the window and runs at a comfortable speed of 15km/h, so you can admire the picturesque views of Haeundae without getting a headache. A round trip on the beach train takes around 50 minutes.

Tickets are priced at KRW7,000 (~USD6.46) for alighting and boarding at 1 station, KRW10,000 (~USD9.23) for 2 stations, and KRW13,000 (~USD12) for alighting and boarding at all 6 stations (limited to once per station).

The Dalmaji Tunnel is one of the more popular stops at Haeundae Blueline Park. The tunnel features stunning rainbow columns that are perfect for your OOTD shots. At night, the entire tunnel is lit up, accentuating its vibrant array of colours.

Another must-visit attraction is the Daritdol Skywalk, where you can enjoy a calming panoramic view of Haeundae.

Certain parts of the skywalk are built with see-through floor panels so that you can experience the thrill of “walking on water”.

If you prefer walking and exploring the park at your own pace, there are also walking paths that you can take.

The Haeundae Sky Capsule runs 7-10m up aboveground and travels along a 2km section of the park. There are 80 sky capsules in operation and each capsule accommodates 4 at a time.

The sky capsule travels at 5km/h, which allows you to have a slow and romantic cruise with your loved ones. It’s a 25-minute ride for a one-way trip from Mipo to Cheongsapo, and there’s more than enough time for you to enjoy the beautiful coastal view.
You can board the Haeundae Sky Capsule at 2 stations – Mipo Station and Cheongsapo Station.

For 1-2 persons, tickets cost KRW30,000 won (~USD27.70) for a one-way trip and KRW55,000 (~USD50.79) for a round trip. For 3 people, it’ll cost KRW39,000 (~USD36.01) for a one-way trip and KRW69,000 (~USD63.72) for a round trip. For 4 people, it’ll cost KRW44,000 (~USD40.63) for a one-way trip and KRW77,000 (~USD71.10) for a round trip.
We recommend riding the carriage in groups of 4 as the ticket price per person works out to be cheaper that way.

Haeundae Blueline Park is open all year round, but opening hours differ according to the season. Hopping on and off the rail attractions is a breeze as there’s only a 15-minute wait between trains.
You can make reservations for the Haeundae Beach Train and Sky Capsule on their website or at ticketing kiosks. There are also packages available if you’d like to ride both.
The Haeundae Blueline Park Main Center is located at Cheongsapo Station, while ticketing kiosks are located at Mipo Station, Cheongsapo Station, and Songjeong.
