If there’s a paradise for floral fanatics, it’s got to be Yeonnam-dong’s Rose Petal exhibition. The exhibition showcases an extensive range of floral installations, including a sea of pink roses, all designed to give you the Insta-worthy shots you’ve always wanted.

The designers of the Rose Petal exhibition wanted to give people the opportunity to take aesthetic shots of themselves with flowers and recreate the experience of going on vacation without actually leaving the country, since international travel is restricted these days.

There are 5 zones in the exhibition – Vintage Rose, Love Rose, Rose Koste, Media Art, and Floraville. Each zone highlights the beauty of flowers through the use of colours and well set-up arrangements that make for perfect photo ops. Visitors can traverse through the zones and snap away to their hearts’ content, just like they would on a regular holiday.

Since the exhibition is conveniently located in Yeonnam-dong – a hipster neighbourhood in Seoul – a trip there wouldn’t end at visiting the exhibition. After exploring Rose Petal, visitors can also explore the plethora of unique cafes and vintage shops that line the streets of Yeonnam-dong.

All the zones in the exhibition were specially designed to allow one to fit nicely into the picture. Some installations, such as the Pink Rose, Burgundy Rose, and Red Rose, have an empty space in the middle so that you can be fully surrounded by roses in your photos.

For those who want a minimalist white look for their photos, the White Rose and Pure Love installations offer massive white floral designs that are simple yet beautiful at the same time.

Next to the White Rose installation, you’ll find a photo corner with a large ring light – which will perfectly light all your selfies – placed right in front of it.

Besides taking photos with the usual pink and red roses, you can also pose with the Deep Purple Rose installation for an eye-catching shot with deep purple and blue roses as your backdrop. The Blue Love installation, on the other hand, is a little more subdued with blue blooms accenting a calm and white background.

Plum Rose allows you to literally frame yourself up in a picture while Infinity Love – a room filled with fairy lights-filled light bulbs and infinity mirrors – will illuminate your portrait shots with a twist.

The exhibition also has outdoor photo zones with natural lighting. In particular, the floral payphone booth at the entrance of the exhibition is a popular photo spot due to its nostalgic appeal and pretty pink roses adorning the interior.
