Seoul’s nightlife is as dynamic as they are portrayed in K-dramas, perhaps even more vibrant. A good example of this is Pistil – a lively and popular bar in Itaewon that both locals and expats flock to to hang out and party until the sun rises.

Because Pistil is especially popular with expats, you’ll find that it’s a great place to socialise with people from various cultures. Open from 8pm, the bar fills up quickly, so try to get there early! You don’t want to miss out on the best seats in the house, which are by the DJ booth.

Take some pictures with your newfound friends by the sign above the DJ, or by the wall of posters right next to the bar – both popular photo spots in the bar.

Pistil’s lineup of DJs rotates frequently and you can find their roster for the night posted on their Instagram. The visiting DJs mostly specialise in electronic music, so you can expect genres such as deep house or techno.

Each night usually features 3-4 DJs, so there’s sure to be a good variety of music throughout the evening. They also hold themed parties on special occasions such as Halloween.

If you’re in the mood for dancing, Pistil has a small dancefloor right in front of the DJ booth. The floor is never empty and always brimming with energetic people. Seats are also available around the space, in case you need to take a breather.
