When we think of Busan, the first thing that comes to mind is their beautiful sea views and beaches. One cafe that capitalises on the city’s natural beauty is Picnicker, which offers a spectacular unblocked view of the sea and an extensive menu with all fruit-themed items.

Picnicker is a 4-storey cafe situated at a prime location along the Busan coastline and boasts an unrivalled view of the sea. Levels 1 to 3 are open to the public, while level 4 is strictly for staff only.

It has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to the sea. These windows are lined with long tables so that customers can dine while admiring the view.

Unlike other cafes that focus only on coffee, Picnicker specialises in fruit drinks and desserts. It sells fresh fruit beverages such as tea, ade, juice, and smoothies, as well as desserts such as fruit yogurt and cakes.

The bestselling drink at Picnicker is the Mango Smoothie (KRW8,000, ~USD5.57), which is decadently topped with a generous helping of fresh mango. And if you’ve been to Korea, you know that fruits aren’t cheap, so this drink is bouje.

Try the Tangerine Bianco (KRW7,000, ~USD4.88), which has 3 pretty layers of espresso, milk, and preserved tangerines. It has a great mix of sweet and sour, and is packed with a caffeine punch as well.
Also, get the popular Iced Persimmon Yogurt (KRW7,000, ~USD4.88), which is both healthy and delicious. It consists of a mildly sweet yogurt garnished with sweet frozen persimmons.
Note that as the fruits are seasonal, you should visit Picnicker in January and February for the strawberry and tangerine season, and May to October for the mango season.

Besides the beverages and desserts, Picnicker also sells fresh fruits such as watermelons, oranges, and kiwis.

Their signature item, the Pollack Roe Fried Tofu Rice Balls & Beef Vegetable Salad (KRW13,000, ~USD9.05), contains premium pollack roe mixed with rice stuffed into fried tofu skin and served with stir-fried beef salad on the side. Note that this dish is not available for takeaways.
If you’d like to try the pollack roe fried tofu rice balls alone, get them separately at KRW4,000 (~USD2.78)/5 pieces.

The other must-try dish is the Butter Shrimp & Seasonal Fruit Salad (KRW15,000, ~USD10.44), which consists of grilled butter shrimps with cheese, assorted vegetables and fruits, and served with lemon wholegrain mustard sauce.

Even though it is not complicated to get there by public transport, we recommend driving or taking a taxi instead. The cafe is conveniently located right next to Sinpyeongso Park, which has an outdoor stage and a boat-shaped observatory where you can admire the blue sea.
