On 12th May, the leads of the new historical romance drama The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff were confirmed. Fans who have been waiting for Junho’s return to the small screen will be elated to know that he will be starring alongside popular actress Lee Se-young in the new drama.

The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff is based on a novel written by Kang Mi-kang. Junho will be taking on the role of crown prince Lee San, and Se-young will play court lady Seong Deok-im.
The drama centres on Lee San and Deok-im’s relationship. Lee San is King Yeongjo’s grandson. He is a cold and arrogant crown prince who seems to be incapable of loving others. He is hard on himself, especially after his father died, because he is shouldering the burden of becoming the next king.
Although Lee San strives to become a good King, he is badly affected by his father’s death.

Deok-im, who comes from a humble background, is a beautiful woman who appreciates the small things in life. She is also independent and prefers to work hard rather than succumb to the easy and comfortable life of consorts.
Lee San and Deok-im are very different, but love blossoms as they interact more with each other. Lee San eventually takes the throne and is crowned King Jeongjo. One day, he finds himself having to choose between love and his responsibility as the king.
Who will he choose – his throne or his love, Deok-im?

2PM’s Junho is finally back after being discharged from the military on 20th March. The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff will be his 1st project after leaving the army.
Prior to enlisting, Junho was active as an actor. He won the “Excellent Actor” award at the 2017 KBS Drama Awards for his lead role in Good Manager. He played Seo Yul, an overly ambitious ex-prosecutor obsessed with power.
Junho also took on lead roles in dramas such as Wok of Love and Confession. In Wok of Love, he played a talented chef named Seo Poong, and in Confession, he played the role of a lawyer named Choi Do-hyun.
Junho has proven himself to be a great actor, and we are excited to watch him in The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff.

Lee Se-young is an award-winning, experienced actress who has acted in many dramas.
Se-young won the “Excellent Actress” award at the 2019 SBS Drama Awards for her lead role as the anesthesiology resident Kang Shi-young in Doctor John. She also won “Best New Actress” at the 2017 Baeksang Arts Awards for her role in The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop. She played Min Hyo-won, the daughter of a rich family who runs a business.
Se-young is also known for her lead role in Kairos. She took on the role of Han Ae-ri, whose mother goes missing one day. She frantically searches for her mother, until someone from the future contacts her.
Given her stellar performance so far, we believe she will play the role of Seong Deok-im well.
The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff will air in the 2nd half of 2021. We look forward to watching 2PM’s Junho and Lee Se-young as the lead couple in the classic historical romance drama.
